Preparation

  • Shake the container of Sulfite Iron Agar well.
  • Suspend 40.5 g in 1 liter of distilled water. Mix well.
  • Sterilize by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes. Mix and pour into plates.

STORAGE

The medium powder should be kept tightly closed and stored at temperatures below 30 degrees Celsius, and the medium should be stored at a temperature of 2-8 degrees Celsius. The best time to use is before the expiration date printed on the product label.

  • Prepared Appearance: yellowish to yellowish-green, Clear
  • Cultural response was observed after incubation at 30 ˚C for 2 days under anaerobic condition. Note that if thermophilic bacteria are suspected, incubate at 50 °C.
