Preparation

  • Shake the container of Yeast Extract Agar well.
  • Suspend 19 g of the powder in 1 L of distilled water. Mix well.
  • Autoclave at 121°C for 15 minutes.

STORAGE

The medium powder should be kept tightly closed and stored at temperatures below 30 degrees Celsius, and the medium should be stored at a temperature of 2-8 degrees Celsius. The best time to use is before the expiration date printed on the product label.

  • Prepared Appearance: Yellow colored clear to very slightly opalescent.
  • Inoculate the medium using the pour plate method. Dispense a sample volume or dilution of no more than 2 ml per plate. Incubate at 36±2°C for 44±2 hours.
