Preparation

  • Shake the container containing TSA culture powder well. Dissolve 40 grams of the culture powder in one liter of distilled water.
  • Heat it gently and boil for one minute to completely dissolve the medium.
  • Autoclave the culture medium at 121 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes. Avoid overheating the medium.

STORAGE

The medium powder should be kept tightly closed and stored at temperatures below 30 degrees Celsius, and the medium should be stored at a temperature of 2-8 degrees Celsius. The best time to use is before the expiration date printed on the product label.

  • In accordance with the type of sample and the relevant standard protocol, culture the desired sample.
  • After inoculation, incubate the culture plate at 35 ± 2 degrees Celsius for 18-24 hours.

Results and Interpretation

For the formed single colonies, it is better to use biochemical and serological tests to identify the type of microorganism.
