Application: It is a general medium for the cultivation of relatively non-fastidious bacteria from various samples.

Preparation

  • Shake the container well. Dissolve 13 grams of the powder medium in one liter of distilled water.
  • Autoclave the culture medium at 121 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes.

STORAGE

The medium powder should be kept tightly closed and stored at temperatures below 30 degrees Celsius, and the medium should be stored at a temperature of 2-8 degrees Celsius. The best time to use is before the expiration date printed on the product label.

  • Incubate the inoculated tubes for 18-24 hours at 35-37°C. If negative after 24 hours of incubation, incubate the tubes for an additional 24 hours.

Results and Interpretation

Examine the tubes after incubation for bacterial growth and turbidity. The medium on which the bacteria grow can be used to inoculate an appropriate agar medium.
