Application: Pre-enrichment of damaged Salmonella in food materials to increase the chance of recovery in primary enrichment and bacterial isolation.

  • Shake the container well. Dissolve 25.5 grams of the medium in 1 liter of distilled water.
  • Autoclave at 121 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes.

STORAGE:

The medium powder should be kept tightly closed and stored at temperatures below 30 degrees Celsius, and the medium should be stored at a temperature of 2-8 degrees Celsius. The best time to use is before the expiration date printed on the product label.

  • Inoculate the sample into the culture medium.
  • Incubate at 35±2°C for 18-24 hours.

Results and Interpretation

Bacterial growth is indicated by turbidity in the medium. Transfer the obtained culture in this medium to the selected culture medium of interest.

Note

The number and type of microbial flora present in the sample may affect Salmonella recovery and may prevent sufficient growth of Salmonella.
