General description: Sodium cholate is an anionic detergent with a CMC of mM14. Since there are three hydroxy groups on a steroid ring and a carboxylic group at the end of the molecular structure, there is no part of this molecule that is either hydrophobic or hydrophilic.

Application: Sodium cholate is a trihydroxy salt that is used as a food additive and as a digestive supplement in dietary supplements. It is used in culture medium in conjunction with papain and pancreatin.
