Preparation
- Shake the container well to homogenize the powder. Suspend 48g in 1 litre of distilled water and boil to dissolve. Mix well.
- Mix the medium, heat it, and boil it for 1 minute to completely dissolve the powder in water.
- Autoclave at 121 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes to sterilize the medium.
- Prevent overheating and subsequent hydrolysis, darkening of agar, and consequently not solidifying by agar.
- Use sterile lactic acid 1:10 to lower the pH. After adding the acid, avoid reheating the medium to prevent separation. This can cause agar hydrolysis and improper solidification of the medium.
STORAGE
Store dehydrated medium below 30 °C and prepared medium at 2-8 °C. The best time to use is before the expiration date printed on the product label.
