Reinforced Clostridial Medium, RCM

Application: Reinforced Clostridial Medium is used for cultivating and enumerating clostridia, other anaerobes, and other species of bacteria from foods and clinical specimens.

Preparation

  • Shake the container of Reinforced Clostridial Medium well.
  • Dissolve 33 g in 1 litre of distilled water. dispense into test tubes.
  • Autoclave at 121°C for 15 minutes.
  • If required, add 0.02 g Polymyxin B / litre in form of an aqueous solution and mix. Mix well.

STORAGE

The medium powder should be kept tightly closed and stored at temperatures below 30 degrees Celsius, and the medium should be stored at a temperature of 2-8 degrees Celsius. The best time to use is before the expiration date printed on the product label.
