Preparation

Shake the container of Stuart Transport Medium well.
Suspend 14.1 g of powder in 1 L of distilled water. Mix well.
Dispense in small screw-capped bottles or vials, filling them almost to capacity. Leave only enough space to permit acceptance of a small swab without overflow when in use.
Autoclave at 121°C for 10 minutes or steam for 1 hour. After autoclaving,
tighten caps immediately.

STORAGE

The medium powder should be kept tightly closed and stored at temperatures below 30 degrees Celsius, and the medium should be stored at a temperature of 2-8 degrees Celsius. The best time to use is before the expiration date printed on the product label.
