Preparation

  • Shake the container of Urea Agar Base well.
  • Suspend 21 g of powder in 950 mL of distilled water.
  • Autoclave at 121°C for 15 minutes.
  • Let it cool to 50 – 55°C.
  • Add 50 mL of Urea Sterile Solution 40% and Mix well.
  • Distribute aseptically in tubes and let them solidify in slanted position.

STORAGE

The medium powder should be kept tightly closed and stored at temperatures below 30 degrees Celsius, and the medium should be stored at a temperature of 2-8 degrees Celsius. The best time to use is before the expiration date printed on the product label.
